X launches React with Video feature letting users record video responses to posts, currently iOS only

X launched a new “React with Video” feature on June 2, offering an alternative to the standard Repost button that lets users record a video reply — in green screen, split screen, or other formats — directly in response to any post. Head of product Nikita Bier announced the feature, saying “commentary is one of the most important pillars of X” and that “sometimes the best way to share your thoughts is with video.” A company spokesperson told TechCrunch the feature is aimed at creators, who can now receive richer audience feedback in the form of facial expressions and tone, while building their presence by inserting themselves into ongoing conversations. The feature is live on iOS; Android and web support are described as “coming soon.” The launch is part of a broader series of creator-facing updates at X: the platform has added Paid Partnership labels, revamped Creator Subscriptions with exclusive threads and shareable cards, cracked down on clickbait payouts, and shut down its Communities feature in April. X reported 550 million monthly active users as of March 2026, up from 520 million in December 2025, per figures disclosed in SpaceX’s S-1 filing.
